Graduating in 2001 with four internships, a study abroad program, a dean's list decoration and an honors college designation - Sawan joined Daymon Worldwide,
America's largest FMCG broker. He quickly moved from a business analyst role to managerial roles with progressive responsibilities. Generating revenue in his various
roles, he had several notable accomplishments including building brands for major retail chains such as Meijer Stores, Safeway North America & Wegmans.
In 2006, he joined Palm Bay International, America's largest privately held wine & spirits business as Vice-President of Enterprise Planning & Business Development. In this
role, Sawan was directly responsible for revenues in excess of $300 million. In 2008, he was promoted to CEO for Palm Bay International's Private Label Division, a startup that he built to over $100 million dollars in sales within its first two years, which directly served big box retailers across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
In 2013, Sawan returned to India to join his family business, Kapoor Lamp Shade Company – India's oldest and most integrated lighting solutions company. After working for 3 years in various roles in his family business, Sawan now serves as the third generation Managing Director of the company.
While a CEO job would be fulfilling for most, in 2015 Sawan started a career coaching services company called TruNorth. The organization works with clients across the globe helping them secure extraordinary opportunities accelerating their professional success manyfold. Sawan lives in Chennai with his wife and two children.
